About Meat and Education

The red meat industry has supported the teaching of food and provided information on the role of red meat in a balanced diet for over 20 years through its education service.

The Meat and Education approach is based on identifying and answering educational need. The programme supports both the practical needs of teachers and the development of valuable life skills in students, which benefits them in their lives outside school.

Meat and Education believes it has a responsibility to support relevant aspects of consumer and health education and the acquisition of other important skills such as industrial and commercial awareness.

Meat and Education publishes a range of primary and secondary teaching resources to meet the different curriculum requirements of Food Technology and Home Economics in England and Wales.

These resources are produced in a variety of formats, including print, video and computer software. Involving teachers, advisers and students in production ensures that all materials from Meat and Education meet course requirements and are effective teaching tools.
